If you are involved in a sport involving repetitive action, you know the importance of technique. Taking swimming as an
example, a session can focus on some aspect of technique, such as body roll, breathing, or hand placement. Add to this
timing when it all must come together. The Wetronome is a tool to help focus the mind and muscles on getting the
timing aspect right.
Although we started in the swimming community, people have come to us saying they would like to use the Wetronome in their
sport. The first group to do so were triathletes, who have successfully used the Wetronome in the other legs of their event
to improve their muscle awareness of cadence.
We are starting to get back success stories and useful information from these other sports to complement our feedback from
swimmers. For each of the links below, you will find hints on how fast you should move to get in an efficient range - where
your body is using oxygen and energy to best advantage.
- Start with a look at our Swimming page, and in fact advice to various types of swimmers.
- If you are a triathlete, you will want to check out our pages for cyclists and
runners, where the Wetronome has been put to good use on all three aspects of the sport.
- We have also heard back from cyclists in competition pursuit, and look forward to adding more
useful information in this area.
- The other sport that keeps coming up is paddling, specifically kayaking over long distance
or open water. See our Frequently Asked Questions page, where we answer a few questions
from four and eight crews.
Our
Products page will also give you a better idea
of the features and benefits of the Wetronome, and the very simple method on
setting a rate.
