"My rate of paddling stroke wasn't up to speed and I had developed the bad habit of having a long slow paddling stroke.

As I mainly trained on my own and due to my inexperience I couldn't always recognise when I was slowing down I wasn't making much progress up the creek.

Was this little yellow thing going to be the solution to my challenge?"

How can Wetronome help your paddling?

The stroke rate of a kayaker is typically 55-60 strokes per minute with a euro or Aleut paddle, but those using Greenland style paddles often have higher rates heading to 80 strokes per minute. Racers can achieve cadences of 100 strokes per minute and higher.

As with other repetitive action sports, consistency and muscle awareness are two goals in becoming more efficient. If you paddle over long distances, you will lose your sense of cadence at some point, unless your muscles have been trained to "know" what a certain rate feels like.
"I have been using my Wetronome for two years now for kayaking and it is great. I am up from a stroke rate of 65 to 78 and an increase in speed from 8.6kph to 10.8... It is a great tool especially for the long distance races, keeps the cadence up and therefore the speed... Thanks for a great product." -- Danny in the ACT.
